That process is supported by strategically planned on-the-job experience and learning opportunities, feedback, coaching, performance management, succession planning, as well as targeted training experiences.

Leadership development research shows that on average 70% of all development happens with on-the-job.

In Addition,  20% occurs as a result of Exposure ie: the impact people have (e.g. good and bad leaders, coaches etc), and 10% through education and training.
